Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded at 4:09 a.m. to Armstrong Road, east of CR 200E and found an SUV that was fully engulfed in flames. After the Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department extinguished the fire, a driver was found deceased inside of the silver, 2004 Chevy Suburban. The Kosciusko County Coroner’s office was summoned to the scene and subsequently transported the remains to the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center, Fort Wayne, for formal identification. The autopsy and dental forensic portion will be performed today. Kosciusko County FACT members stated the fatality vehicle was travelling east on Armstrong road, when for an unknown reason, it left the south side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree head-on, and caught fire. The crash remains under investigation.
